Electric Daewoo Truck
Tata Daewoo Mobility, formerly known as Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company, has officially rebranded as part of its shift toward electric and hybrid vehicles. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in Gunsan, South Korea, the company unveiled its first electric truck lineup, the Gixen series, featuring models with ranges up to 480 kilometers. The Gixen will come with various battery options supplied by LG Energy Solution and BYD, with mass production planned for 2026.
Tata Daewoo’s trucks are recognized globally for their durability, serving industries such as logistics, construction, and agriculture in regions including Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The company plans to expand sales to 14,000 units by 2028, focusing on markets equipped for EV infrastructure such as Taiwan and Canada.
The company also announced plans to integrate autonomous driving and hydrogen truck technologies, aiming for electric vehicles to represent 15% of total sales by 2030.
In Turkey, Dev Truck is responsible for the local production and sales of Tata Daewoo’s products, including the upcoming Gixen electric truck lineup, supporting the brand’s strategic expansion into regional and African export markets.
